Yes, I am still here...

Sorry everyone, this blog has been a little neglected. We have been busy with museums, zoos, parks, swimming, blogging at Made by Heidi, etc... but I wanted to check in.

Laila gets cuter by the day. She runs around with Maddy and is pretty much fearless. She climbs, runs, tries to ride bikes, loves running through water fountains at the park, etc. She has a pretty sweet vocab, "tickle-tickle-tickle," "hi," "rock," etc. She loves pointing at things and having us tell her what they are. She loves Maddy and laughs hysterically at pretty much anything Maddy does. She also just learned how to cap and un-cap a marker... just learned that... right now as I am writing this. She also sings wordless songs like; ABC's, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Little Einsteins. She is also the sweetest baby, she comes up and snuggles me all the time, she even says "aaahhhhhhh" when she does it... MELTS MY HEART! She is also a little fashionista, she finds/wears my jewelry as often as she can.

Maddy is also growing like a weed. She developed a stutter soon after moving here which my doctor assures me is normal for this age group. She was basically potty-trained when we moved here (diaper only at night) but after a week here she asked me to wear underwear to bed. She hasn't gone back and has had zero accidents! YAY! Coloring has even transitioned from pointless scribbling to concentrated movements, she colors in the lines and even is starting to write letters! This is an awesome development because it means that coloring takes 1 hour instead of 3 minutes. Thank goodness!

I am learning to love Houston. It is a HUGE adjustment, it is hard going from campus life to real life... there are not 25 moms within a 2 minute walk, there is not a park where everyone congregates everyday... it is hard to fill my kids days with interesting things to do. Luckily we have a family reunion in August, Maddy is really excited to see "Seph" (a.k.a., Seth).
