Madelyn's cake story:
Part One: Madelyn had no idea what to do with her cake. She just stared at it (above). Finally, I placed her hands in the frosting (below).

Part Two: She immediately took her hands out and stared at them (above). Still not knowing what to do--Dad had to help. He placed her hand in her mouth (below).

Part Three: Epiphany! Clearly all we needed to do was get the ball rolling...
"What is this sugary-goodness?! - I must have more!"
Having way to much fun!
Binging isn't complete until you have experienced the "sugar-coma."

Opening up her presents. I must say, she made quite a haul. Lucky girl.
"That's a cute dress, just my style!"
Swimming with mom and dad.
Playing with all of her loot at home.

I can't believe it's been a year! She's just too cute! Oh and Capri is my favorite place, I'm jealous that you were just there!
Happy Birthday, Maddie!! She is such a big girl. She looks so cute in her little birthday outfit. We sure do miss playing with her at church.

I loved all the pictures and the play by play on the cake! Both our older kids had much the same experience.
You spend so much of their lives up to this point telling them "don't touch that," and pulling their hands out of their food. What are they supposed to think when you put a giant brightly colored treat in front of them?
I'd be thinking, "This has GOT to be a trap!"

Nope, sorry Wendi. Our friends are coming out in the first part of August. We will miss you guys!
too bad you weren't here. tori and maddie could have shoved their faces together. although, tori really only got one piece of cake (and it was leftover from Audrey's birthday the day before.) I guess that's what happens when you are the 3rd child. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDIE! We miss swimming with you!
PS I love the picture of her as a newborn. Don't you think her legs have changed?
I can't believe it either! I remember the day she was born, where I was when I got the call that you were going in for a c-section.... heck, I remember when you showed me the stick you peed on!! I miss you guys!
Response to Dana: That would have been awesome. Did Tori have a fun b-day? Aren't her little legs so cute? I called her "frogger" for the longest time after she was born. lol.
Response to Kyndra: I know! I think I still have that stick boxed away somewhere (I know, WAY to much information! LOL) Life moves SO quickly! I cant believe that it was almost 2 years ago! Good grief! Where does the time go?
