This weekend we visited Heidelberg, a quaint German town with an awesome castle dating back to the 13th century. Originally built as a fortress, the castle underwent many additions and improvements over several hundred years. The last improvement was completed in the mid-1600's. The castle was destroyed by a fire in the 1700's. This castle and its history is absolutely enchanting!

One of the chief architects working on the castle lost his two sons when they fell off of the scaffolding. He later had a dream where his sons came to him as angels. He immediately carved this for the castle.

The view from the palace gardens.

Madd was shocked at the enormity of the palace gardens!

Notice the name of the restaraunt. We tried to convince them to give us a free meal since we were family. It didn't work. LOL.

Like Mother, Like Daughter!

Playing with her feet on the way home from Heidelberg. She is so silly!
