After a long hard battle, I finally gave up. Maddy is not ready to be potty-trained and for that matter I am not ready either. I can't watch her like a hawk every minute. I can't drag a kicking, screaming child to the potty. I am tired of Madelyn feeling bad when she doesn't succeed. I don't want a 3 month battle. I want her to be potty-trained in a day. So I must wait, wait for a time when she is totally ready - and that is ok.

You don't know long battle yet... we tried with Ben for nearly 3 months before we gave up. We tried again 6 months later and he did much better, but there were (and still are) accidents! Good luck.
I potty-trained Reina right before Ivy was born and she did okay, but there were lots of accidents and I think I was the one trained more than her. After Ivy was born, Reina went on strike and I was tired of it so we went back to diapers. Fast forward nine months later, I attempted to try again last Monday. By Wednesday she was trained. We haven't had an accidents since and she goes by HERSELF without me helping her on the toilet or reminding her to go. MUCH BETTER THIS WAY. Wait until she's ready, she'll get it, you'll be happier. Diapers aren't all that bad anyway, right?
It's ok to do this. I did the same thing with Abby and she did great when we started again.
Yes. It's definitely okay to wait. It was the same for Melody when we tried the first time when she was about 2 1/4 y/o. It totally didn't work. We started again a month ago or so, and it's going so much better!
Ainsley has been "working on it" for two years now. Welcome to the club. And now it's time to start working with my 2 1/2 year old. I'm frightened to death to start potty training again, when I'm still working on it with a 4 year old.
