Let me first start by saying, "no baby yet"...
If you are still interested in our fun adventures - read below. If you are only visiting for pictures of a brand new baby I am pretty sure that you will have to wait for a week or two. She has taken up permanent residence and I, unfortunately, cannot evict her.
Dan's parents came into town on Sunday and we have done a ton of sightseeing this week. On Monday we did the Freedom Trail. We learned a lot about 17th & 18th century Boston. We saw Paul Revere's, John Hancock's, and Samuel Adams' graves.
We also learned several interesting and funny facts...
1) there are more than 9,000 people buried in the 1 acre Granary Cemetery
2) when building the cemetery's fence they had to open John Hancock's grave, unfortunately, many people used this opportunity to steal pieces of his body as souvenirs
3) since Cod and Mackerel were important fish to the early Bostonians the colonists commissioned two statues for the statehouse - the "Sacred Cod" and the "Holy Mackerel" (lol)
It was a lot of fun!

It was a lot of fun!
That evening we had a BBQ with our HBS buddies.
On Tuesday we toured John Adams' homes. There are three: 1) where he was born, 2) where he and Abigail spent their early married life, and 3) where they lived after returning from Europe. Each home was filled with original furniture, linens, books, etc. These items were actually used by John and Abigail on a daily basis. Each house was passed down through the Adam's line until 1940 when they were sold to the National Parks Service. The sale-agreement stipulated that the National Parks Service could not remove any of the home's contents. It was amazing to see Adams' actual walking stick, glasses, bed, linens, etc...

First home.
Riding the tour bus with Daddy.
Later that evening we went to Walden Pond.
Madelyn has been completely obsessed with her new baby sister this week. She keeps running over to the swing/bassinet saying, "baby sister coming." She has also been a very good mommy to her babies this week. She cradles them in her arms when they are crying, puts them down for "nie-nie" in the baby's bassinet and car seat, feeds them, etc.
On Wednesday we went to Maine. We checked out the coast, a lighthouse, and had a delicious lunch. This entire week I have been having, what I have termed, "car-labor." It only occurs in the car and stops the minute I get out. I was sure that I was going to have a baby that night, but after we got home, nothing. Oh well...
On the way home, Maddy was being really funny. She was "talking" to someone on my cell when she said, "Hello, hi. I wan Gee-gee-goo, Panda." For those of you who are not up to speed with Madelyn's language, "Gee-gee-goo" means "cookie." Also, Kung Fu Panda has become her favorite show. It was very funny that she was telling the "person" on the phone that she wanted a cookie and to watch Kung Fu Panda. Hilarious!

On Thursday I decided to stay home (since I was sure that I was going to have a baby :), so Dan and his parents continued on to Plymouth Ma. They toured the Mayflower, saw Plymouth rock, etc. They had a great time.
That's all folks... Hopefully the next post is about a baby...

What a fun excuse to go sightseeing!! I'll bet it was nice to have a visit from Dan's parents!
Good luck with the baby!
Your adventures are exciting even if there is no baby involved. I look forward to updates. Go VBAC!
Heidi and Dan, I just read on Wendi's blog that the baby came tonight. Congratulations!
