Maddy's Words

I love watching Madelyn learn how to speak. She says the cutest things. Since I am the worst at keeping a journal and very consistent about keeping a blog I have decided to write them here.

Swimming: Winnging
Elevator: Ah-ee
Blanket: Bee-a-tee (Sheldon taught her this version. It use to be "Bee-Bee." She also says it very emphatically. She puts extreme emphasis on every syllable. It sounds as thought she is talking about a long-lost-love or something. I have to laugh whenever she says it.)
Binky: Bee-Bee
I want that!: Minga-Minga (usually said over and over again until she gets whatever it is that she wants. This word was the precursor to "Please". Sadly, she no longer says it.)
Elephant: Ella (Madelyn's favorite stuffed animal is an elephant named "Ella." She sleeps with Ella, she pushes Ella around in her baby stroller, she feeds Ella her snacks, etc.)
Night-Night: Nie-Nie
Amen: A-My (she says the every time a prayer is finished. She usually yells it and puts a big emphasis on the "My". We have gotten several appreciative laughs when she does this.)
Jesus: Jee-Gi
Sheldon: Sheldy
Alicia: Leesha
Chair: Caa-Caa
Cookie: Gee-Gee-Goo (I love this! I have no idea how she came up with it but it means "cookie.")
Help me Momma: Ah-Ba-Ba
Milk: Meelk
No: No (Okay, so she pronounces this perfectly but I have to write it because she is sooo stinkin cute when she does it. She will shake her head and say, very matter-of-factly (she even lifts her eyebrows a little), "no, no, no.")
Please: Peas! (she has learned that saying "please" will get her almost anything that she wants. So, if I don't give it to her right away it turns into a very insistent (constantly increasing in volume) "Peas? Peas? PEAS? PEAS? PEAS?"
Whenever we flush the toilet: "Bye Bye Poopoos" (it doesn't even matter what is in the toilet to begin with)
Snack: Snaaa?
Naked Nudey: Nay-Nay-Nu (We call her a "Naked Nudey" whenever she is naked. She LOVES being naked. She will often come to me in the middle of the day, pull at her shirt, and say "Nay-Nay-Nu?" followed promptly by a "Peas!" After she gets naked she runs around the house giggling and rubbing her tummy, saying, "Nay-Nay-Nu, Nay-Nay-Nu." Getting her naked can seriously buy me so much "Happy Maddy Time.")
Thomas the Train: Too-Too
Christmas Tree: ah-de-de (anything with Christmas tree lights on it is a "Christmas Tree.")
Slide: Sigh? (Everything is with a question mark, it is usually because she is asking me if she can do it, have it, eat it, etc...)
I love you: I ya you
See you later: Eee-ya-yader
Shoes: ooes (she kind of spits, if you will, at the end)
Microwave: Why-Kay-Kay
Grandpa: Gran-poo-poo

She says many other words and each are adorable in their own right. These are just my favorites.

I used to get teased for writing down all the adorable/hilarious things said by the little kids I worked with at Aspen Grove. But it's so darn cute when the little ones talk!

How exciting to watch Maddy learn! I heard that she's got a great name for her grandpa Bern...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I just added it to the bottom of the list.
