Yesterday was the HBS Christmas party for the kids.
Madelyn had a lot of fun doing the art project (placing stickers on the paper Christmas tree).

Then it came time to see Santa Claus. She was, unfortunately, terrified. This is what happened...
The minute that Santa walked into the room with Misses Claus Madelyn covered her eyes. She stayed like that for TWO minutes! All of the moms around me were laughing because she looked so silly. I decided to take a picture of my petrified child. Poor girl!
Finally she decided to peek out and see what Santa Claus was all about.
When it came time for her to sit on Santa Claus' lap and get her present this is what happened...
Needless to say, she was not happy!
In order to placate my sad baby I let her play with a balloon.
"All better!"

That is the cutest picture with Santa! Santa looks like, "Will someone please take the picture so I can give her back to her parents?" She'll laugh when she's older looking back at that picture :)
It's amazing how Santa, who is supposed to be for children, scares them so much! Xander was jealous of Maddie's balloon. He saw it and said "baaoon?"
I haven't tried this yet with my girls, I am sure they would act similar. She looks adorable covering her face!
This girl cracks me up! I LOVE the picture of her hiding her eyes with those little hands.
